Not at art. I'm steller at art, only getting better everyday. This is more a personal thought blob to get things outside of my cranium, because I feel like I really am terrible at being a server. Server as in waiter, taking care of tables, making customers pleased, etc etc. I just don't know what I get wrong, or how it seems others are alot more at ease with it.
I used to feel like this at my old job, WoW, but I got better at it. Was my first server job, so I was really oddball at it when I first started, but tables love my charm and wonky attitude, so yay for that. I'd get a little overwhelmed when I got to 3 and 4 tables at once, but I got used to it, after a bit of being a server I eventually managed to have 5-6 tables and really have my head around what I was doing and what needed to be done.

Fast forward to my new job, and I'm wondering again, do I suck at being a server? I feel like my head will explode from all the memorization I have to pull off and all the daily information I need to keep track of, and organizing my time around making sure each table constantly has fresh drinks while getting desserts and taking out food and giving the goddamn "Hi welcome to blah blah we have this on special and the soup is and the other special is and blah blah" speal just gets longer and longer. I keep telling myself its cause I'm new there and hell I only work there 2-3 days a week at max because of school, but goddamn I feel like alot of shifts I'm reaching my limit with how much I can handle mentally. My wife keeps telling me I just need to get used to it, is that it? Am I just in need to an adjustment?

I worry about my capacity to perform well, I never want to be the proverbial broken lion leg that keeps voltron from beating the crap out of his opponents, and I feel like that...and it worries me.
